Japanese Spirit
A plot on the city outskirts, stylized with Eastern motifs, balances the aesthetics of a Japanese garden with a modern architectural home. The main task was to create a distinctive, private yet open environment that would integrate vegetable-garden elements and play spaces for children.
In designing the setting, principles of an Eastern garden were combined with contemporary planting solutions. A shallow water feature running through the entire yard was planned as the main spatial element, naturally dividing the site into two parts. One part is intended for movement and more active activities; the other is for quieter relaxation, with a planned terrace, canopy, and a bench by the water.
A rock garden installed in the yard—visible both from the terrace and through the bedroom window—complements the overall landscape composition. The entire area is richly filled with natural elements: stone steps, a dark crushed-stone path, and a water spring emerging from a massive boulder.
The gravel-and-moss garden is enriched with shade-loving plants, while pines and junipers give the yard structure and vitality throughout the year.
