A Calm Courtyard by the Nemunas
When designing this plot, two aspects were important to the owners: ensuring privacy and preserving the view of the Nemunas River. The project’s style was shaped by both the house architecture and the natural context—plants soften the stricter forms that dominate the space and allow the yard to maintain a visual connection with the river landscape.
During the design process, the plot was clearly divided into two main zones. The front part was left for utility use, with a large parking area adapted to the owners’ needs. The residential side of the plot is separated and oriented toward coziness and everyday relaxation.
A wide concrete-slab path leads to the main house, and the trees alongside it form a natural arch. This solution gives the entrance clarity and structure while softening the path’s strict, linear character.
Most daily life takes place in the backyard. Here, cozy and private leisure areas were planned: a hot tub, a fire pit, a pergola for quiet time, and a small fitness area.
This is a project where architecture and nature work together. Privacy, comfort, and functional zones reflect the clients’ main needs and create an environment suited for everyday living.
